Cities Of Death gaming table



Way back in 2006 I think it was Games Workshop released the Imperial Sector for Cities Of Death expansion of 4th Ed WH40K! We had planned on doing a gaming table for the shop before sadly going out of business. 
18 years later the dream is becoming a reality! 

I wanted something big enough to hide Titans behind should they get gamed with again.

Even a Warlord Titan would get cover from actual building sized buildings!! 

Pulled my old Armies On Parade tile out of retirement, it has two more Reaver Titan sized buildings on it.

Thunderhawk Gunship - Imperial Fists

The Thunderhawk gunship ! An image I took of the latest Thunderhawk model on one of my many Warhammer World visits! I've wanted to cover the Thunderhawk in depth for a very long time, and now I have a very good excuse so please bare with me. The Thunderhawk gunship is used by the Adeptus Astartes as their primary means of deploying forces for ground combat as well as their primary source of air support. The Thunderhawk gunship is often considered the lynchpin of any Space Marine Chapter, as it is able to fulfill many combat roles. The Thunderhawk is fully capable of functioning as an orbital drop ship, a heavy ground attack gunship, or as a bomber. Imperial Fists- Horus Heresy!

Here is my new army for 2023, Imperial Fists, originally my first choice for 30k, as I'd collected Crimson Fists since 1987, and had a sizable Black Templars army in 4th edition 40k, it made sense to go back 10,000 years and visit the Imperial Fists legion that spawned both those iconic chapters! My Legio Victorum Titans dictated otherwise however with the Dark Angels and Night Lords getting chosen for some narrative Thramas Crusade lore reasons and to tie the collections together. I was also worried that painting an army yellow without an air brush would be a total nightmare. I wanted to document my Imperial Fists journey here! I started off with a Leviathan Dreadnought I'd originally bought for my Crimson Fists from Forge World back in 2018, it was built and primed but never painted and sat in my cabinet for 5 long years!
