So a friend offered to call into Warhammer World for me straight after lockdown and bag me a WARBRINGER that was In stock there. It had been out of stock on the website since the Pandemic began. I couldn't have got hold of it without him! It completed my one of each imperial Titan dream. I knew we would be getting the Delta head variant that was my 2nd choice of head for this Titan, it was seen in one of the Adeptus Titanicus books, and originally I was waiting for that to come out because I wasn't sold entirely on the original Alpha head! My original first choice was always going to be a Warlord Beta head with a skull design on, but that was not being made during the pandemic either. Then i started to think about colour scheme ideas and the idea of painting a skull but fitting it on the alpha Warbringer head, the vents would lend themselves in a similar way to the Warlord Beta, an executioner, a bringer of death, a Titan hunting monster was born! No point in waiting any longer let's pull the trigger on the Warby now!! Meet number 252.

Almost as many boxes as a WARLORD!!!

I had already got the Volcano cannon arms in preparation.
Wash day, Warbringer body!!

Start of one of my favourite ever Titan builds!

I think i might be building the Starship Enterprise???

Make it so!!!

I couldn't believe how great this cast was, or how much thought and detail was crammed into the kit! These are the shell loaders for the huge Quake Cannon.

unlike the other Titans it had pre made holes for magnets!!!

Quake shell!

Magnetised the Quake shell loaders, future proofing the Titan incase I wanted to swap the main Quake cannon out for a Volcano cannon, huge power cells for the Volcano would fit there, it would obviously have no use for quake shells!
The huge Quake cannon in all its glory. Its usually an arm choice for a Warlord Titan but came out on the Warbringer first!
I wanted it set in a raised position being an artillery piece. It wouldn't fire directly forwards like a rifle in my mind.

magnetised the arms with left over N52 20x3mm magnets I had from my Reaver.

so I could swap out for any load out if I really wanted to, here is a laser blaster from the Reaver, it shares all the battle titan weapons with the Reaver class but in my honest opinion they do look a little small for the Warbringer, it can look like T-rex with its little arms!!! I opted for the Reaver/battle titan Volcano cannon as they are the longest weapon available for it!
for the legs my Titan buddy offered his services to come and help, he has Warbringer experience, it has a bad reputation for its legs having minimal tolerances with some very static poses still causing big problems with the leg armour fouling the pistons. I also found the Warlord legs really tricky to do alone, its a juggling act, so i took a bit of a confidence knock. He came around for the day and brought his Warbringer which totally changed my build programme after seeing his attention to detail which i'll cover later, it gave me a lot more work to think about but I think it was worth doing 100%

252 stands with its huge Quake cannon and arm mounted Volcano cannons!

Knees bent slightly locked in and braced to fire the huge Quake cannon.

So much going on here, even compared to a WARLORD!! This was quickly going from my least favourite Titan to right up there as one of my favourite builds.

Starting paint, with the head once again. I wanted the cockpit to kind of match the WARLORD i did!!!

Hope this Princeps isn't afraid of heights!!!
mapping out the freehand skull idea, at this point I didn't know if it would work or just look stupid!!!

Looks like Memento Mori spent too long in the company of the Night Lords Legion!!
so that's really the skull idea I had, I didn't really like the big metallic forehead trim so planned on weathing the hell out of it, lightening the tone of it so much it gets closer to the bone colour, and of course darkening the bone so they meet a little blending it in and it being a bit less a focal point.

felt like it was much more how I imagined it now!
really working the metal to not stand out so much! It did blend in a bit better.

and then hit with steaks and scratches!

It had gone from my least favourite Titan Head to being up there as one of my favourites!

Magnets!!

i'd planned on making the two types of head compatible as there isn't much size difference! I didn't think I'd ever use the Warby heads on a Warord but I loved the idea of a Warlord Beta head on a WARBRINGER chassis after seeing Lyden (@lpminiatures) from the Titan Owners Club do it! It was my favourite combo head at the time and I'm still trying to get hold of a Warlord Beta head!!

instead of glueing that part perminantly to the Warbringer, let's call it the neck, I Magnetised it so the whole part could be removed as one. The head is still magnetised to the neck so I could swap the heads out for the Warby Delta head if I wanted to, the black neck part is really an adapter in this case. The usual 20x2mm N52 connects it to the body.

back of the head, neck and the head cables you can see are also magnetised.

I magnetised the cables completely after seeing my mates, he wisely said that they are likely to snap off the head while attaching and removing the head. I think he was so right and I'm glad they are fully removable now, i did catch them a few times and I'm sure they would have broken but the magnets let go first!

side profile of the complete head

torso / head mounting is magnetised exactly the same as the Warlord so it will accept a warlord head!!!

and the Warbringer head could be used on a Warlord!!

made a great start on the legs and feet!
Flying along.

metallic parts and trim weathering

the hazard stripes i love so much!

made a start on the knee and thigh too. The spartan helmet featured in the Horus Heresy big black book 9 - crusade so I freehanded that on as a subtle nod to that!
I had to Freehand the icon for the Warbringer onto the knee which is a bow, it has AT scale decals available but none in 28mm as yet. I really hate freehanding but it came out okay(ish)I think! Oddly they changed the direction of the bow later for other Legions bit mine matches the official Victorum art in the big black book 9.
I think they are a good looking set of pins!!! I did have to modify the leg armour slightly as it was fouling the toe guards!! No biggie and not noticeable I don't think! I had to shorten the length and file a few mms out of the backs of the armour that no one sees anyways. Just kept on with the Dremmel removing resin until they fit. Not ideal but it is what it is.

in its ikea cabinet, have to keep the investment safe!

Added its chassis number as i do to every Titan, each one matches its Forge World certificate! Just a cool thing we do!

made a start on the huge shoulder armour, its just not a Warbringer without it!!!

I remember at this point thinking its already my favourite Titan. Shouldn't have favourites they are all awesome to me, but there's just something about this which feels special in someway!

I carried the hazard stripes over onto the other armoured piece under the shoulder. I was hoping it wouldn't be too much and I think I got away okay with it!

it lines up rather well accross the two pieces of armour! It can be tricky when they have a different curve to them.

The anti Air guns are magnetised so the array can rotate up and down and side to side. I honestly wasn't going to bother with more magnets its already got a million on it with the head, neck, head cables, point defence weapons front and back, and the quake shell loaders at the back. However when my mate came to visit he had the anti Air guns laid down flat to protect them, and to me for transporting this beast in future without them getting knocked and broken was worth the extra work!!!!

252 really looking the part now, making huge progress everyday but I didn't want the build to end. It went from my least favourite Titan to being up there with a Warlord and if I had the spare funds and the room to keep another i definitely would do it!!

I painted the Quake cannon and magnetised the shields more so to stop them breaking off than swapping them over.

the shoulder armour is big enough to hide magnets behind and the shields are light enough that the magnets hold them, that means I didn't have to sink magnets into my already painted armour or spill glue on the armour either!!
It looks almost done here but there is SO MUCH MORE TO DO!!!
To own one Titan was a dream then as time progressed and I kept collecting,  adding one of each imperial Titan class was the ultimate dream, it was one of my proudest hobby days to see these together.

28mm scale Axiom Maniple of Legio Victorum lead by Warlord Titan, a Reaver Titan and a hunting pack of 2 Warhounds and backed up by an auxiliary Warbringer!

At this point I'd actually got a 2nd Reaver which was a dud cast, and I was returning it to Warhammer World, I took these pics because I felt like I was being fobbed off and treat like a noob. It was my 6th titan and I wanted to show them that I was experienced with FW resin enough to spot a really bad one!

Anyways, enough of that, on with Warbringer 252 progress!

Chief Ordinance Moderatus for the viewing deck!
I also magnetised the viewing telescopes because I just knew I'd catch them and break them off. The funny thing is now, if I do accidentally knock them off there's so much magnetic pull on the Titan that they never make it to the floor!!!

I love them just peering over the railings! Gives a sense of scale to this walking behemoth too! And speaking of rails.....

With my nerve damage in my numb hands, cutting these out was one of the hardest days I've had in the hobby, I didn't want to leave them off, I didn't want to spoil them by slipping and ruining them. They came out a little rough but with my hands, they are better than id have expected. I can't feel them when I'm holding them so i don't know how much pressure I'm applying!! That's a recipe for disaster sometimes.

in the grim dark future health and safety is alive and well!! I should have haz marked the steps too haha

I also added the 252 engine number to the Warbringer class icon bow. With some Legio Victorum text.

Spent more time detailing the Quake cannon too!

and more railings cut out for the crew hatch next to the quake...
I added more decals to it too, there really is so much going on with this Titan!

I saw Moggys Miniatures amazing Warbringer and saw what he had done with the scroll, using Only In Death Does Duty End from the limited edition Knights Freeblade Decal sheet, it took me months to track one down and I eventually get my hands on it to find it was originally sold by Moggys Minuatures!!!! Whats the chances of that. The motto works well with a morbid skull faced Titan hunter called Memento Mori!! Thanks Moggy for the inspiration!! I added the Warbringer Bow to it!!!

I also added a Warbringer icon bow to the other knee thanks to the AT decal sheet!

also added the bow here next to the Titanicus icon and the engine number!

Calling Memento Mori done now!

A couple of really surprising things happened during the creation of this engine.

The awesome Lee Marshall @theforgeofmars) on IG was inspired by the skull and used it on his Godbreakers Warbringer engine Gorgonmentura.
Lee is like Titan royalty to me so seeing him be inspired by something I'd done was hugely flattering. Lee is a valued member of the Titan Owners Club, has a wealth of Titan knowledge, does hang outs and lore chats on YouTube and has a gazillion Titanicus scaled engines from various legios. You really do need to check him out. He's the king of posing Titans!

And Rob W @eyecon74 on IG also replicated the skull head for a forthcoming Legio Solaria WARBRINGER!

again check out his work!! Amazing paint and builds of Titans with awesome water bases!!!

I didn't expect to leave a little mark on the hobby there, everybody in the TOC inspires me daily so its an awesome feeling to see them get some inspiration back. It means a lot when its people you look up to!

Update pics and Walks pics!

Warbringer service record:
Deployed to Greetings From The Warp Titan Walk 2021.
Deployed to Warhammer Fest 2023.
Engine Kills 1, (Legio Mortis Warbringer. Widows Wail)
Warbringer 252 deployed at Greetings From the Warp, walking for the Imperium alongside Legio Solaria and Legio Metalica.
It was the first time I'd had my full collection of 6 engines out. (As of 2023 its now expanded to 10 engines. 2x Warlord, 1x Warbringer, 3x Reaver, 4x Warhounds.)
Memento Mori deployed at Warhammer Fest in Manchester 2023.
Victorum walk day 1! My Legio split the days fighting for the Imperium day 1 and fighting for the Warmaster day 2! A lore accurate event! After the event those engines have been repatriated into the loyalist Legio and the engines blessed by the tech priests. No corruption has been spotted but we keep a close on them they will repent for their past transgressions forever hunting the Traitors down.

The Warbringer hardly moved during the first day, found a hole in the defense wall and could see and reach many targets of opportunity. Titan Walks are always a target rich environment and it did get an kill and quite a few of the usual assists in, the quake can be annoying to opposing players, they mess up positioning, interfere with their movements and can bounce titans on to the edge of the map or into scenary which causes extra damage. The Quake is often over looked for the fun/annoyance It brings to the field. Or it can fluff and land in the middle of nowhere and do nothing at all. The more tightly packed the foe the better chance you have of bringing some hurt!
You shall not pass! Titan sniping in full effect.
